Celebrating Self-Reliance: Atmanirbhar Bharat Utsav 2024
Hosted at grand Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from January 03–10, 2024 this event stands as a beacon of pride for India’s indigenous craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
At the forefront of this celebration is the Ministry of MSME Pavilion, which pulsates with the vibrancy of the “PM Vishwakarma” theme, a scheme dedicated to empowering traditional artisans, or ‘Vishwakarmas’.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, with its comprehensive support, acted as a catalyst for these traditional craftsmen and craftswomen. Involvement of Weavers & Artisans from different states of India
There were more than 100 weavers and craftsman participated in this event. The stalls allocated within the pavilion represented not just economic sectors but also echoed the ethos of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. A diverse array of products showcased — ranging from bamboo crafts to custom tailoring and from games and toys to cosmetics — mirrors the rich tapestry of Indian creativity and skill.
The spirit of handmade weavers, artisans and craftsman imbued the air. Indiahandmade.com, an ecommerce hub exclusively for artisans, interacted with them to create awareness about the platform and explained how it stands as a testament to the prowess of Indian craftsmanship.
Representing diverse sectors, from textiles, handloom and embroidery works to leather footwear, ceramics and food products, the platform provides a digital gateway for artisans to showcase their talents and connect with a global audience.

Allocating stalls to categories like SC/STs, Women and Divyangs ensured that the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat reaches every corner of the nation. Diverse Array of Indian Handicrafts and Handlooms at Atmanirbhar Bharat Utsav

The craftsmanship of leather artisans is showcased through a range of traditional footwear, including Kolhapuri chappals, Jodhpuri juttis and mojaris. These products highlighted the artistry and durability of Indian leatherwork.
